Vote Your U's Team Of The Year Tue 30th Apr 2013 19:30
With an under 21 development side being introduced this season, rather than running a Young Player of the Year award (which surely Drey Wright would easily win), this year we have created a new award - The Supporters’ Team of the Year.
Carlisle 0 U's 2 - Durham's View Sun 28th Apr 2013 21:30
Never in doubt – brilliant warm sunshine, superb performance, magnificent support, overwhelming celebratory scenes at the end. No it was not May 2006 at Huish Park but April 2013 at Brunton Park.
Notts County 3 U's 1 - Gerry's View Mon 15th Apr 2013 20:30
I travelled to Nottingham in much anticipation as this was probably my last match for the season but left somewhat deflated… and it wasn’t the meat pie either! From various discussions with the faithful before the match consensus was very much for the draw and this seemed eminently achievable, even a win was possible as Notts County had four defeats on the trot.
U's 2 Leyton Orient 1 - Noah's View Mon 08th Apr 2013 19:00
A crucial tie demands that match day superstitions be respected, and we set off nervously knowing that none, except choice of underwear, were on the agenda, not even the wearing of U’s colours, courtesy of D.O.M having won us lunch in the lofty heights of the Centennial Suite.
Oldham 1 U's 1 - Durham's View Tue 02nd Apr 2013 08:30
Colchester came away from Boundary Park with a creditable draw but it should have been another win to help ease the relegation fears.
U's 2 Yeovil 0 - Noah's View Wed 27th Feb 2013 12:45
Around 700 spectators left the stadium prior to Tranmere’s fifth goal and didn’t return last night. Hence, merely 2,367 saw the U’s make a mockery of Yeovil’s unbeaten in 2013 promotion chasing status. It is a shame that a town approaching a 200,000 population can’t muster more support for its local club, given that the U’s still have so much to play for, and on this evidence are far from doomed.
Sheffield United 3 U's 0 - Gerry's View Sun 17th Feb 2013 19:35
Noah asked on the message board why "The BBC reckoned the Blades had an incredible '85% possession' in a match lasting 90 + 6 minutes??" Well probably they did but just for the last 15 minutes when the U’s regrettably lost their focus, commitment and more importantly their discipline. For the rest of the match we were close, but not just enough to match what looked like an accomplished Blades side. An overall figure of 60/40 to the Blades would be fairer estimate.
U's 1 Preston 0 - Durham's View Mon 11th Feb 2013 17:45
Lilywhites fail to live up to their name. This weekend was somewhat special, the opportunity to meet Mr Happy and his son Brightspurs (who currently leads the prediction league) and to see Colchester deservedly defeat Preston North End.
Crawley 3 U's 0 - Noah's View Wed 02nd Jan 2013 18:30
Watching the warm up shooting practice, it occurred to me that Gavin Massey, Freddie Sears, Woody, big Clinton and others were all struggling to beat Carl Pentney and/or even hit the target. It was however encouraging seeing how newcomer George Porter was consistently tucking them away with much precision before 3.00pm. But sadly, he didn’t get a single chance within the game itself.
MK Dons 5 U's 1 - Noah's View Sun 25th Nov 2012 15:20
On arrival at Stadium MK for my third visit, my first thought was once again envy as when finished (n.b. the upper tier still has no seating) it might comfortably provide a World Cup venue. But on previous occasions, the sun had shone with in excess of 12,000 in attendance. This time, inside were merely 7,443; smeared thinly around its rim like bacteria in an outsize coffee cup that had been placed on a wet towel, today doubling as a boggy car park.
